About Us

There comes a moment in life when, suddenly, life takes an unexpected turn. For us, that moment came on June 7, 2014. Our darling Duhita, took her last bow and exited from life’s stage.

“Duhita” means ‘One who benefits both’. Her intelligence, art, electrifying energy, a happy disposition, and positivity had won everyone’s heart. One never found her crying or moping, EVER!

Then, what could we do to keep her memory alive? With every tear that we shed, we thought of how her exuberance could be a role model for children suffering from cancer. We wanted her positivity to be an inspiration to those going through the same ordeal as Duhita.

Happiness depends upon how we perceive certain events that occur in our lives. Despite the pain, we knew that we had to move forward and we also knew in our hearts that Duhita would be our guiding light. The six years that we spent at the Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital were hinting at something, too but we just couldn’t place a finger on it. However, we had resolved to fill in the void left by Duhita.

Thus, with the help of Doctors at Tata Memorial Hospital, respected elders, and close friends, we embarked on a journey to lend a helping hand to children suffering from cancer and their families. In the days that followed, we liaised with organizations like Cankid and Impact Foundation and within a year DUHITA FOUNDATION was born.

“DUHITA” was born again……this time, to be with us forever.

Duhita Foundation Started by Mr. and Mrs. Save and his family in 2014, Duhita Foundation is a registered trust, founded in memory of their daughter, Duhita Save, a cancer survivor, who succumbed to lung infection in June 2014.
